Why do older couples have longer relationships than younger couples?

I Know young people always break up around 5 days of a relationship, but older couples stay till atleast 2 months!Why do older couples have longer relationships than younger couples?

It all has to do with maturity. Just to let you know, most older couples - especially if they are married - can be together almost eighty years! My grandparents were - until my grandpa died several months ago.
This one is easy. Older couples been there done that, you know what I mean? They know the game, they know what they want and what they don't want. Also in a way its desperation, they might be panicking about being for the rest of their life alone thus put in extra effort to make a relationship work.
Because usually they take their time in getting to know someone. Instead of it just being sexual, they cultivate bonding through outside interests and actually participate in activities together. I also think maturity has a great deal to do with it, you know what you want and what you're looking for - I think when you're younger things like how cute a guy is, and what kind of car he drives, are considerations. When you're older you realize, how he looks and material things to some degree are trivial. It's about how he treats you.


I personally have a rule when it comes to dating, it's the 90-day rule. I think if you take your time within 90 days you know what you have, some people can fake you out for 30 days, perhaps even 60 days, but they can't fake forever, by 90 days you'll see their true colors coming out, which is why I never really get too excited about a guy I'm dating til he makes it through the 90 day period.

After you gather more experience dating you start to have a better idea of what you're looking for and who you want to date. So, usually, ';older'; people go out with people they are more and more compatible with.





On the flip side, you could also argue that older people date each other for LESS time than younger people. Younger couples could be naive and think they should stay in a crappy relationship whereas ';older'; people don't want to waste time so it's usually hi and goodbye.

Maturity. The older you get the more it seems like this is your last chance. You try a little harder. When your young you feel like there is so many more people out there. Not to mention your getting older and you ain't looking any prettier!
