Is it just me or do most gay guys go for someone much older in comparison to hetrosexual couples?

I'm a gay guy myself and feel like I get ignored just because a lot of the time I am too young (they've even told me!). And the ones that do come onto me are far too older for my liking (i'm 18, and they are 24+ ).Is it just me or do most gay guys go for someone much older in comparison to hetrosexual couples?
They're doing you a favor. After a night of passion they'd dump you because they think you have nothing in common. Don't rush it, give yourself a year or two. You don't need a one night stand, what you need to find is someone closer in age to you that has similar interests.Is it just me or do most gay guys go for someone much older in comparison to hetrosexual couples?

Not where I live! I'm 35 and get that I'm tooo old from just about everybody, even guys around my age and sometimes older than I am.
An interesting observation. I am 37 and considered by most 18 - 21 y/os to be too old to date. Even though i like guys that age, i usually date guys 25 - 35. I guess it has to do with the idea of having someone that is able to take care of themselves, a little more maturity, etc. Another common thing i hear is that those under 21 can't go to all the places the older crowd can go (bars, clubs, etc.).





My current BF is 30 and very stable. I asked him why he liked older men, and his answer was simply, ';they make me feel safe'; and are more serious about life issues. Go figure.

But you're right, a lot of guys do prefer guys that are much older. I think a lot of gay guys look for a father figure; it has to be that, because what would someone who's 18-21 have in common with someone who's 40+?

Well, I would dare to say that most gay are turned off by really young blokes like yourself when the other guy wants a ';serious'; relationship, and that is because some guys can't stand a guy that may be a little bit too naive or reckless or immature. We have to face that most of times it is true that when we are young we don't know many things (we may sometimes not even have a '; true man's'; body) and older guys don't like that...


On the other hand some guys like men that are a lot older because they like to feel somehow ';protected'; and taken care of, and if they are willing to do that (both sides) it must be ok.


I've never dated someone really older as a romantic prospect.
