Is there such thing as love? if there really is why do couples separate after a year of being together?

If there is true love, why most of us cry because of heart problems. Why there is a need for divorce and legal separation. Will u say love is just a temporary thing and theres no such thing as forever? Is there such thing as love? if there really is why do couples separate after a year of being together?
because love is a hard thing to work with. love means you have to deal with your partner thru the bad and the good. means you have to know how to work out your problems. you have to be able to work with the person you love. a lot of couple get married because they are in ';love'; but many do not just have what it takes to love the other. a simple fight turns into a major break up. guys and girls alike get bored and instead of experimenting with their partner they go off to someone else. both people in the relationship have to take the others emotions, feelings, ideas, etc. into consideration

there is such a thing as love. my grandparents are in love, they have been together since the end of highschool. they were highschool sweet hearts. my grandpa has traits that bug my grandma, but she puts up with it, just like he does with her. they love eachother and will die together in love.

ps: they still go to sleep naked together and they are like 60 something years old. i think that lovers need to find their partner attractive thru out life, not just when they are in their prime. Is there such thing as love? if there really is why do couples separate after a year of being together?
There are two kinds of love: ';in love'; and real love. ';In love'; is actually physiological in nature, and it goes away somewhere between six months and two and a half years. You have this time to turn ';in love'; into real love. Some people pass out of ';in love'; without building a strong enough relationship to create a true love.

I have three things I've learned from personal experience that indicate whether you're in a good relationship.

1. A relationship should make your life richer, not poorer. You shouldn't find yourself limited by your SO.

2. You should be each other's cheerleaders, and you should always expect to be treated the way he treats you (and vice versa).

3. The test of a good relationship is not how it goes in the good times. A truly good relationship will become stronger when there are conflicts, while a poor relationship will get battered.
Love is real. People who break up/separate/divorce are not truly in love, they only thought they were at one time.
