can states limit who can adopt and be eligible for in vitro?
Im thinking of writing my paper for school on this subject. need as many opinions as i can get thanks!!!Same sex couples adopting/ getting in vitro? what are the laws around this?
States can limit who can adopt at this time. And yes, same-sex couples are able to both do in vitro and adopt in all but Florida. There is absolutely no evidence that same sex couples make poor parents, so I see no reason to disallow it.
The only reason why it is not allowed in Florida is to provide a red herring against their other practices including losing children in the system and giving foster families way more children than can reasonably be cared for (it's a money maker). My sister's relative is currently caring for 5 (yes FIVE) infants under 6 months, some with special needs, along with her own non-school aged children. Illegal voting practices aren't the only thing screwing up this state.Same sex couples adopting/ getting in vitro? what are the laws around this?
In the U.S., same-sex couples can adopt in every state except Florida.
In Florida, they can foster but not adopt.
(Florida sucks.)
I'd contact a hospital.
Adoption law for same sex couples
The review group has been looking at current laws
Same sex couples will be able to adopt children, under new legislation being proposed by ministers.
The move is part of a radical overhaul of Scotland's adoption laws.
At present, only one member of an unmarried couple can adopt, the other gets separate rights to live in the same house as the child.
But in future, unmarried and same sex couples could be able to adopt together if they can prove to be in an enduring family relationship.
The Deputy Education Minister Euan Robson said that the adoption system needed to be changed to offer more children the chance to flourish and have a sense of belonging to a family.
